BRZ/FR-S/GT86 Tuning

We are proud to now be offering tuning for the Subaru BRZ, Scion FR-S, and the Toyota GT-86 (FT86) variants using the EcuTek ProECU platform. With our tuning you get all of the EcuTek RaceRom features such as: Per gear rev limiter, launch control, autoblip, and much more. We are also able to program in custom maps that are easily selectable at any point with no reflashing necessary! This means E85 tuning, race gas maps, gear torque reductions for turbo applications, and even more at just the press of the cruise control stalk! Expect gains to be modest on pump gas, but we have made strides in reducing the torque dip and obtaining gains throughout.

BRZ HP vs Stock (best)

Torque is improved, HP up just about everywhere. Note that this is an optimistic stock run. Generally we find the power to decrease with subsequent runs on the stock tune, so the “dip” is actually worse in real world conditions compared with the red line you see here. These are corrected numbers on a generally 5% lower reading dyno. Now, compared to stock again, more real word, note the below:

Above is the stock tune. When you log the longitudinal g force via ProECU, you’ll see the exact torque curve (given consistent roads/wind etc…) In stock form the dip is clearly visible.

And here is the Moto-East tuned version. The dip is smaller, the top end doesn’t fall off nearly as much. This is consistently what we see on the road.

But of course to really take advantage of the high compression ethanol certainly helps! Below is testing with E85 (E70 since it is the winter blend here in the northeast)

E70 Tune Dyno Results

You may see others advertising higher numbers–but do not fall for the hype. The peak you see at 4600 RPM is a maximum torque value that is tuned to the limit even on the factory tune. Without other modifications, it cannot be raised. If you see a dyno plot where the peak is raised, subtract that difference from the rest of the values to get the honest tune. Unfortunately it is very easy to “cheat” with this car on the dyno by using various gears, or changing the order of the runs after ECU reset. We always advertise our lowest and honest numbers. We’ve tested various other tunes that were on customers’ cars, and we’ve not found a single one to make more honest power than hours.
